a message from the pastor

Dear alumni and friends of LCMNU,

Every year, students design a new LCMNU t-shirt that expresses who LCMNU is and what LCMNU is about as a ministry. This year, the design is a tornado with a cross at the bottom and with these words below the cross: Grounded in Christ. Amid a flurry of disruption on campus, in our city, the country, and the world in just over a few months, the students know exactly what they need to hear: that their faith tradition has something to offer and to say, especially right now. It is our faith tradition grounded in love of God and neighbor, in mercy, in justice, and in peace that creates an alternative story that tethers and guides us in and through the “tornadoes” of life. As you will hear in the stories of a current student and alumni of this ministry, LCMNU always has been a ministry of “grounding”! Grounded in Christ, our students know God’s life-giving story in which they can and do participate in generating through their words and actions. Thanks be to God for their proclamation! And thank you to each of you for your part in grounding LCMNU through your prayers and financial support.
